Recent Events - 2010

December

We had our Annual Christmas Fair at the beginning of the month; this year's theme was "Christmas is in the Air". The fair offered Crafts, Gift Jars, and Homemade items made by our parishioners, such as Baked Goods, Chocolate Bon Bons, Lollipops, Peanut Brittle, Nut Creations, Various Spice Blends and Mixes for popcorn, cider, wine, and cheese. The Fair also had a Cafe with soups, chowder, and other hot items.

As in the past we offered an Affordable Children's Christmas Shoppe, a place where children are able to pick out items on their shopping list and get it wrapped!

Later in the day, St. Anne's held a made-from-scratch Ham and Bean Supper held in Bixby Hall; it was followed by Gift Party Book Raffle.

This year we had 2 services for Christmas; one in the early afternoon and one late in the evening. Turn outs for both - especially the 1 PM service - were greater than expected, as many came to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

To update our Pictorial directory, we had Olan Mills onsite for picture taking. Besides getting a church pictorial directory, all sittings received a free 8x10 photo.

It was hard to believe but our 3 years of (gratefully) having Gay as our Deacon came as she is moving on to her next church, St. Peter's, Beverly. We held a Pot Luck luncheon to honor her service.

Also, we saw our own parishioner - actually Postulant, Pete Jeffrey, move on to St. Anne's in Lowell as part of his diaconal training. We had a 'roast' for Pete on of all days, Halloween.
