Recent Events - 2008
December | Rev. Deacon Gay held an Advent Quiet Day at the beginning of Advent in which she had participant focus on the 4 themes of Advent - We held our Holiday Fair; this year's theme was 'The Sights, Sounds and Smells of Christmas'. This year our fair offered Crafts, Jewelry, Religious items, Baked Goods, Homemade Candy, a Cafe with Homemade soups, lasagna, mac-n-cheese and more, an Affordable Children's Christmas Shoppe, Christmas Wreaths, Photos with Santa, Raffles and other things. It was followed by a (from-stratch) Ham and Bean supper. Traditions carried on once again for Christmas. The Children's Pageant for family's, the Silver Tea service in the early afternoon and the midnight service were all held to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! |
November | The month began with Commitment Sunday for the first Sunday of the month. After reflecting on our commitment of time, talent and treasure for the following year, we had a wonderful spaghetti dinner along with a nice, fun way to burn it off - by square dancing! |
September | This year we held the Annual 'Welcome Back Brunch' after our special 9 AM service. The vestry sponsored this brunch with homemade quiches, fruit, danish, bagels, coffee, tea, juices, and the like. Our Church School, Youth Group and the Acolytes met for the first time this fall. The Adult groups began as well. |
June | June is a busy month at St. Anne's, as we have many traditional, annual events scheduled. |
May | A fundraiser for St. Anne's was held at Masonic Lodge in Billerica Center. The Eastern Sound Band entertained us with a great variety of music. There was Polish music, Country western, old favorites and some fun ones, such as the Chicken Dance and the Finger Dance (a new one for many). Everyone enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to another such fundraiser. |
January | The Youth Group held a U2charist on an Saturday January evening. Youth groups as well as parishioners from other churches attended. A home-cooked meal followed this communion service that was accompanied by U2 songs. |
